Into the Wild leads Actors Guild nominations
The nominations for the Screen Actors Social club Awards have been announced with the Sean Penn-directed 'Into the Wild' leadership the short list.
The film's star, Emile Hirsch, is nominated for the Best Doer award, with co-stars Hal Holbrook and Catherine II Keener shortlisted in the C. H. Best Support Actor and Actress categories severally.
The cast of 'Into the Wild' are as well nominated for the Charles Herbert Best Throw away honour.
Shortlisted with Hirsch for Best Doer ar George II Clooney ('Michael Clayton'), Daniel Day-Lewis ('There Will Be Blood'), Ryan Gosling ('Lars and the Real Girl') and Viggo Mortensen ('Eastern Promises').
Cate Blanchett ('Elizabeth: The Golden Age'), Julie Agatha Christie ('Away from Her'), Marion Cotillard ('La Vie en Rose'), Angelina Jolie ('A Mighty Heart') and Ellen Varlet ('Juno') ar nominated for Best Actress.
Connexion Holbrook on the Best Support Histrion short list ar Casey Affleck ('The Assassination of Jesse Saint James by the Coward Henry Martyn Robert Ford'), Javier Bardem ('No State for Old Men'), Tommy Lee Jones ('No Nation for Old Men') and Tom Sir Geoffrey Wilkinson ('Michael Clayton').
Keener is joined on the Best Support Actress short list by Cate Blanchett ('I'm Non There'), Crimson Dee ('American Gangster'), Amy Ryan ('Gone Baby Gone') and Tilda Swinton ('Michael Clayton').
Along with the stars of 'Into the Wild', the actors in '3:10 to Yuma', 'American Gangster', 'Hairspray' and 'No Res publica for Old Men' are as well nominated for Topper Cast.
The winners will be announced on William Ashley Sunday 27 Jan.
